If you're looking to move on from a tiny 15-inch monitor, consider upgrading to the NEC AccuSync 90. It's money well spent. In addition to the large 18-inch viewable screen size, the footprint of the AccuSync 90 almost equals that of a 17-inch monitor--sure to save plenty of precious desk space.

With a dot pitch of 0.26 millimeters, this shadow mask CRT presents fine detail. It isn't the sharpest of monitors, but text and images are clear. At higher resolutions, however, we found that smaller font sizes become nearly illegible. We also noticed some ghosting near the edges of the monitor. Still, there's a lot to like about the AccuSync 90. Colors are rich and deep, contrast controls are strong, and the screen is surprisingly flat for a shadow mask CRT. With a maximum resolution of 1,600 x 1,200 at 76 Hz, the AccuSync 90 is no slouch, and at the recommended resolution of 1,280 x 1,024 at 89 Hz, flicker-induced eyestrain is certain to be a thing of the past.

The AccuSync 90 is a well-rounded monitor that should appeal to consumers on a budget. High-end graphics users might want to shy away from its dull image quality, but for general business applications, the AccuSync 90 should fill the bill nicely.
